To celebrate the launch of the Clifton collection in China, Baume & Mercier requested us to design and develop a website that could accurately reflect the collection’s identity and appeal to target customers in the local market.
Understanding and assimilating Baume & Mercier's goals
As Baume & Mercier’s main goal was to integrate the Clifton collection with the local market in China, we realised that jumping straight into the production process would not fully accomplish this goal. Therefore, we began by conducting a multitude of studies to familiarize ourselves with the local market and what the target audience is looking for (e.g. particular colours and fonts that we've chosen to use). By making Baume & Mercier’s goals our own, we were able to consider from all points of view how to best represent the target audience in order to achieve these goals.
Within the website, we included a mosaic of features that will provide positive user experience, particularly for Baume & Mercier’s target audience. These include an interactive timeline outlining the accomplishments of the brand; videos that feature local businessmen and musicians presenting the brand’s watches; and product catalogues that display the watches within the Clifton collection.
To develop a truly innovative website, we used new we used new technologies as Ajax See Fy
We developed the website under Drupal 7, allowing the Baume & Mercier staff to autonomously manage their own content. We also included a store locator as well as map integration to further aid customers while perusing the website.
